Homemade Masala Chai recipe


Masala chai is a flavoured tea drink made of black tea combined with milk and Indian spices and herbs. Even though masala chai originated in India, it is now popular worldwide. Try to replace your usual tea you have for breakfast with masala chai and you will see how beautiful your early mornings will become. Ingredients

  • 500ml water
  • 1 teaspoon Masala chai spice mix
  • 1 teaspoon black loose-leaf tea
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 250ml milk


Preparation

Pour water to a small saucepan. Add spice mix and bring to the boil. The lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. The saucepan should be covered with a lid.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and add a teaspoon of black loose-leaf tea. Set aside for 4-5 minutes.

Percolate the tea to a teapot. Add honey and heated milk. Stir well.
